Chinatown day and night are different shoots
We keep daytime Chinatown sessions on a separate page from the night / neon photoshoots, because the two look almost nothing alike. People usually book them with different goals in mind.
By day, you get directional sunlight bouncing off painted walls, hard shadows in the alleys, and clear views of the architecture. The crowds and shop activity stay visible, so it reads as a real working district.
By night, the lighting is neons, lanterns, and red glow against darkness. Different mood, different palette, different posing.
Yaowarat Road is the main street through Chinatown Bangkok. We use the road itself plus the lanes off it, the temples, the shopfronts, and the sunset spots when the light is right.
Side by side, day vs night
If you're not sure which fits what you want, this is usually the easiest way to decide.
Chinatown by day
Strong sunlight, hard shadows, painted walls, visible street activity. Reads as a real, lived-in working district.
Best for couples, lifestyle, dating apps, travel portraits where you want to actually see Bangkok in the frame.
Chinatown at night
Neon signs, lanterns, red light against dark backgrounds. Cinematic and moody.
For neon photoshoots see our night / neons page.
What we cover around Yaowarat
Most sessions move through a few spots in the same outing. The lanes off Yaowarat plus a couple of nearby districts give you variety in one route.
- Yaowarat Road and the side lanes off it
- Wat Traimit area and the surrounding streets
- Street food stalls and shopfronts
- Talat Noi, the quieter district next door
- Song Wat Road for the riverside angle
Yaowarat alone fits in a 1-hour Sabai session. To pair it with a second district, the 2-hour Sanook is the right fit.
The 4-hour Sawasdee Deluxe is the only package that covers Yaowarat in late afternoon and stays through the lights coming on, so you get both the day and the neon look in a single session.
Tell us what you want the photos for, and we will plan the route. We know which lanes catch the afternoon light, where the food stalls are quietest, and how to time the move from day to night without rushing.
Easy access from Wat Mangkon MRT if you are coming from elsewhere in the city.
Three options, fixed prices
For both day and night, the Sawasdee Deluxe (4h) covers Yaowarat in late afternoon through the neons coming on.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a daytime Yaowarat session take?
The 1-hour Sabai package covers Yaowarat itself comfortably. Two hours (Sanook) gives time to add a second district like Talat Noi or Song Wat Road.
Four hours (Sawasdee Deluxe) is the only option that covers both day and night in one session.
What time of day do you shoot Yaowarat?
Daytime sessions run from afternoon through golden hour, usually 1pm to 5pm. The afternoon light works on the painted walls and creates the strong shadows that define the daytime look.
For nighttime neons, see our separate neon photoshoots page. Those start after 7pm.
Can we combine Yaowarat with Talat Noi and Song Wat in one session?
Yes. Two of these districts fit a 2-hour Sanook. All three fit comfortably in a 4-hour Sawasdee Deluxe without rushing between locations.
We will plan the route so each spot gets shot in the right light.
Do you shoot the street food scene?
Yes. The plastic chairs, food stalls, and steaming woks make for natural street scenes that show the working side of Chinatown.
Daytime catches sellers and locals eating in afternoon light. For the cinematic flash-lit night look, see our neons page.
