Family Photoshoot Bangkok

Family photoshoot in Bangkok with a photographer who actually gets kids.

We shoot in parks, temples, and quiet streets across the city. Real moments, real families, ready to print within days.

Most international families visiting Bangkok want pictures that look like them, not stiff catalogue poses. That's the whole job here. We speak fluent English, we're used to jet-lagged toddlers, and we take bookings on short notice when your trip plans shift.

Happy Families

What Parents Say After Their Session

★★★★★

Lukfoto caught our toddler's personality during our Bangkok trip. Arjun was running everywhere at Lumphini Park, and they turned that into the shoot instead of fighting it. The three-generation temple photos are the favourites. Genuinely worth what we paid.

Our 8-month-old Emma was fussy the whole afternoon. The photographer was patient, worked around her nap schedule, and still got the sweetest shots of the three of us walking around the city. The Wat Pho frame is now hanging in the hallway at home.

Michelle Wong Banker
★★★★★

We wanted something colourful and unposed for our expat family album. The Talat Noi session was exactly that. Our twin boys had fun, the photographer kept up with them, and we ended up with shots that actually feel like our life in Thailand right now.

Why Families Pick Us

A photographer who works with real kids

A lot of photographers in Bangkok shoot mostly models. We don't. Our schedule is built around families with normal life mixed in: toddlers who need a snack break, teenagers who hate posing, grandparents who need to sit down between spots.

After hundreds of sessions with international families, we've learned to read the room fast. Sometimes that means giving direction. Sometimes it means stepping back and letting your kid climb a wall. Either way, we already know which corner of each park or temple has the best light at 3pm, where the crowds thin out, and which background won't fight your outfits.

If you want a covered or air-conditioned option, we can also run the session at our family photo studio Bangkok setup, with backdrops and lighting ready to go.

Where We Shoot

Where we like to shoot in the city

Bangkok gives you a lot to work with. Green parks, old temples, riverside walks, painted streets in the older neighbourhoods. We've shot all of these dozens of times, so picking the right spot for your group takes about two minutes of conversation.

Light matters more than the venue. That's why we run sessions outdoors in the second half of the day, when the sun softens. If the weather turns or you'd rather stay cool, we move to a covered studio set with full lighting control.

When to Schedule

Our usual slot is between 3pm and 5pm. Light is soft, faces are flattered, kids haven't melted down yet. Sunset in Thailand comes earlier than most visitors expect, around 6pm depending on the season.

Best Months

November through March is the cool season and the easiest time to shoot outdoors. Other months still work fine. Bring a small towel and water for the kids and we'll plan around shaded spots.

Before Your Session

What to Wear and How to Prep

What to wear for your session

Pick clothes that feel comfortable first, then think about how they sit together as a group. Coordinated palettes always look stronger than fully matching outfits.

  • Skip loud patterns and big logos. Solid colours hold up better in print.
  • Match the location. Lighter shades pop against green parks, deeper tones work well on old streets and temple walls.
  • Dress the kids first, then build the adults' outfits around theirs.
  • Wear shoes you can walk in for an hour or two.
  • Bring one backup top per person for outfit changes if you booked Sanook or Sawasdee.

How to prep on the day

Hungry, overtired kids will not enjoy the shoot, and that always shows in the final pictures. A bit of planning fixes most of it.

  1. Eat a real meal one or two hours before call time.
  2. Pack snacks, water, and any comfort items for the youngest in the group.
  3. If you have a baby, plan for one outdoor hour. That's enough to get plenty of variety without melting them down.
  4. Charge your phone. We'll send you a few quick previews on the spot if you want them.
  5. Leave a 30 minute buffer for traffic. Bangkok afternoons can be slow.

Group Combinations

Your session is fully flexible

Common setups people ask for:

Big group shot with everyone in frame
Mother and daughter or father and son portraits
Grandparents with grandchildren, three generations together
Sibling sets and extended family groupings
Solo portraits of each person
Family with the dog, because they count too

We also handle reunion groups, just-the-parents shots, and any custom mix you want. Tell us who's coming and we'll work it into the timing.

Adjacent Sessions

Beyond the standard family portrait

A lot of families pair their session with something else going on. Maternity shoots are a regular request, ideally in the cooler months so you're not battling the heat. Wedding groups also book us for the candid family side of the day, especially around Bangkok's older landmarks.

Reunions are another common one. Cousins flying in from different countries, grandparents in the city for the first time in years, that kind of thing. We just need to know who's coming and what matters most to capture.

Our Style

Real moments, not stiff poses

We shoot mostly candid, with a few classic posed frames mixed in. You'll get the formal "everyone looking at the camera" set you can send to grandparents. You'll also get the in-between stuff: a kid laughing, a quick glance between parents, a small hand inside a bigger one.

Those candid frames are usually the ones families end up printing. They feel like the trip actually felt.

The pace is calm. No rushing, no shouting at kids to smile, no checklist to march through. By the time you head home, your edited gallery is ready to download, share, and print.

Ready When You Are

Pick a date, pick a vibe, and we'll handle the rest. Locations, timing, light, even rerouting if your toddler decides today is not the day.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if it rains?

Rain in Bangkok is usually short, mostly between May and October. We can pause for 15 to 20 minutes, switch to a covered location, or reschedule at no extra cost. You won't lose the session.

How far in advance do we need to book?

Same-day and next-day bookings are fine when our schedule has room. Send us your dates and we'll confirm fast. Travel plans change, and we get that.

When do we get the photos?

Three days for the Sabai Session. Sanook and Sawasdee come back inside 24 hours. Everything is fully edited and ready to download, print, or share with relatives back home.

Do you shoot indoors if it's too hot?

Yes. Our covered studio in central Bangkok runs full air conditioning and controlled lighting, with backdrops set up before you arrive. It's a solid option for newborns or anyone who'd rather stay out of the heat.

Can grandparents and friends join the session?

Of course. Group size doesn't change the price. Three-generation shots and reunion frames are some of the most-requested setups we cover.
