How a session runs
A three-stop urban route in central Bangkok
We start at the Chong Nonsi skywalk for the elevated angle, with traffic running underneath and the city stretching out. A minute's walk away is the BTS station itself, where we shoot trains coming through the platform.
Then we move to the Mahanakhon tower. We shoot it from the ground only. Professional cameras are not allowed up to the rooftop deck, so we work street level with super-wide and fish-eye lenses to fit the whole pixelated facade in one frame.
There is a cafe right there for laptop and coffee scenes, useful for business or lifestyle portraits. The location has a bathroom you can change in between sections.
For the second half, most clients pair this with Lumphini Park for green contrast, or with one of the nearby rooftop bars for skyline at golden hour or after dark.
At night, we shoot the same exact spots in our cinematic style, neons, traffic trails on the skywalk, the tower lit against the dark sky.

The route
The stops we shoot,
in order
01
Chong Nonsi skywalk & BTS
Elevated walkway across the intersection. We use the long sight lines, the railings, and the traffic moving underneath. A minute's walk to the BTS platform itself, where we shoot trains coming through.
02
Mahanakhon tower (ground level)
The pixelated facade is the recognisable backdrop. We work the street and plaza around the base. Super-wide and fish-eye lenses fit the full height in one frame. We do not go up to the rooftop, professional cameras are not allowed there.
03
Cafe near the tower
Useful stop for laptop and coffee frames, business and lifestyle portraits in a softer interior light. Bathroom on site for outfit changes.
04
Lumphini Park
For green contrast in the second half. The park sits a short ride from the tower and gives you a different texture in the same session.
05
Rooftop bar
Alternative second half. Skyline at golden hour or after dark, with the Mahanakhon tower visible from most rooftops in the area.
06
Same spots, at night
For the cinematic version, we run the same route after dark. Long exposures on the skywalk, the tower lit up, BTS trains as motion streaks.
FAQ
Frequently
asked
Can we shoot from the Mahanakhon SkyWalk rooftop?
Not as part of the photoshoot. The SkyWalk observation deck does not allow professional cameras, so we work the tower from the ground only. The good news is that ground-level frames with a super-wide or fish-eye lens fit the entire pixelated facade in a single shot, which is the look most clients are after anyway.
Does this work for dating app photos?
Yes. The skywalk and the tower both read clearly as Bangkok in profile thumbnails, which works well for dating app portraits. The route gives you variety in one session, urban architecture, transit, then either green or rooftop.
What about LinkedIn or business portraits?
The cafe near the tower works well for business portraits with a laptop, plus the architectural backdrops outside read as a working professional in central Bangkok. Sathon being the actual finance district adds context for finance and corporate roles.
Day or night?
Both work, very different looks. Day gives you crisp architecture and the pixel facade in clean light. Night turns the same spots cinematic, neons, traffic light trails, lit windows on the tower. The 4-hour Sawasdee Deluxe is the only package that covers both in one session.
What time of day do you shoot?
Afternoon onwards. We do not shoot mornings here. Late afternoon into golden hour is when the light hits the tower's facade best. Night sessions start after dark.
