What a Thai Costume Photoshoot Looks Like
You rent a traditional outfit near Wat Pho, the rental staff dress you and do your hair and makeup, then we shoot at one or several temples around old Bangkok. A typical temple photoshoot runs from 1 to 4 hours and covers up to 6 locations.
We're a Bangkok-based team of thai costume photographers shooting temple sessions year-round. The page below covers pricing, the rental shops we work with, our most-booked routes, and which temples actually allow costume shoots.

Where We Actually Shoot
These are the routes our clients book most often. They're built around good light, manageable distances, and temples that allow costume photography without restrictions.
Wat Pho + Sunset
- Wat Pho courtyards and chedis
- Sunset by the river
Full Heritage Tour
The full temple photoshoot route across old Bangkok, finishing at golden hour by the river:
Why we skip Wat Arun and the Grand Palace
Both are overcrowded and slow to shoot in. Every temple photoshoot we run starts at Wat Pho or Loha Prasat instead. Same heritage, same architecture, none of the queues.
Where to Rent Your Outfit
Several costume rental shops sit right next to Wat Pho. Costumes run 200 to 500 THB depending on the shop and style. The one we recommend most is One Day Master, 2 minutes walk from the temple and 1 minute from our riverside sunset spot.
Loha Prasat also has a costume shop next to Milky Tree Coffee. Costumes there are 300 THB. Useful if you start your shoot from that side of the old city.
All shops carry full sets for women, men, and children, plus accessories. Sizes go up to XXXL. As a working thai costume photographer team, we can call ahead and confirm availability for you.
One Day Master Pricing
- Full costume: 500 THB
- Top only (TikTok-style, pair with jeans): 300 THB
- Hair and makeup: 1,300 THB
- Advanced hairstyle: +300 THB
- Children's sizes: available, all genders

Book Your SessionOther Temples Worth Shooting
If you've already done the main route or you're staying somewhere specific, these temples are worth adding. Tell us what you're after and we'll suggest the best fit.
Wat Paknam
Giant Buddha and a few solid frames. Most clients combine it with a longtail canal cruise in costume, a different experience worth doing.
Wat Bowonniwet
Worth a quick stop for a couple of strong shots. Easy add-on to an old town route.
Wat Sitaram
Different look from the major temples. Has its own character if you want something off the standard list.
Wat Hua Lamphong
Good base if you want to combine a temple shoot with parks, rooftops, or other city locations in the area.
Wat Suthiwararam
Undiscovered by tourists and visually rich. Worth checking if you're staying near Asiatique.
Wat Prayun
Unique design, located near Wat Arun. If you genuinely love Thai temple architecture, this one belongs on your list.
Erawan Museum
The famous elephant landmark. We shoot there regularly, about 20 minutes from The Ancient City.
The Ancient City (Muang Boran)
Essentially a temple theme park where you can spend a full day. Far better than the Grand Palace or Wat Arun for photography. No queues.
Wat Nak Prok
A real gem. Wild creativity in the design and visually distinct from anything else on this list.
Wat Sam Phran
The dragon tower temple with strong views. Located far from the center, so plan your day around that area if you want it.
Ayutthaya
Recommended only if you're into history. For photography alone, skip it. The site is mostly ruins. Go to The Ancient City instead.
Wat Ratchabophit (restricted)
Banned commercial photoshoots. We can't shoot you in costume here. A few casual photos passing through is fine.
What Clients Say
Booked the 2-hour package. Got dressed at One Day Master, shot at Loha Prasat, Wat Suthat, and Wat Pho, then ended at the river for sunset. Photos arrived in 2 days, around 580 of them, all edited. Great value.
We were a group of 4 and reserved makeup ahead like the photographer suggested. Shoot ran smoothly across Wat Pho and the riverside. Locals were warm with us in costume and the photos look fantastic.
Picked the 4-hour package and hit Wat Benchamabophit, Loha Prasat, Wat Suthat, Wat Pho, then sunset. Got over 800 edited shots. Worth every baht and the route advice saved us from wasting time at Wat Arun.
Common Questions
How much does a Thai costume session cost in Bangkok?
Photography starts at 11,000 THB for 1 hour (up to 300 photos, 1-2 temples), 19,000 THB for 2 hours (up to 600 photos, 2-3 temples), and 34,000 THB for 4 hours (unlimited photos, up to 6 locations). Costume, hair, and makeup are paid separately at the rental shop, usually 500 to 1,800 THB per person.
What time of day do you shoot a temple photoshoot?
Sessions start in the late afternoon (around 3 PM) and run through sunset. The light is softer, the temples are quieter, and the river spot delivers golden hour. Night sessions are optional.
Where do I rent the costume?
We recommend One Day Master, 2 minutes from Wat Pho. Full costume is 500 THB, hair and makeup 1,300 THB. There's also a shop near Loha Prasat (300 THB per costume) if you start there. Both have children's sizes and accessories.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes for the photoshoot. For the rental shop, walk-ins are fine in low season. Groups of 3 or more for hair and makeup must reserve ahead, otherwise you'll wait or get turned away.
Can I switch out of the costume mid-session?
Yes. We can help you return the outfit to the rental shop and continue the shoot in your own clothes if there's time left.
How fast do I get the photos?
Edited high-resolution files arrive within 24 to 72 hours, delivered digitally and ready for printing or social.
Why don't you start at Wat Arun or the Grand Palace?
Both are overcrowded. Queues, foot traffic, and tour groups make clean shots difficult. Wat Pho and Loha Prasat have similar architecture with far better conditions for a thai costume photographer to actually work in.
