Bangkok pool photoshoot, done at the right place

We are picky about pools. Most of them are mediocre, with bad light, cluttered backdrops, or no room to move. Talk to us before you book your spot.

Our default pool: Supalai Premier Charoen Nakhon

We shoot most pool sessions at our own building, Supalai Premier Charoen Nakhon. Photography is allowed there, the pool is uncovered, and we have run many sessions on site.

If you want to shoot at your own hotel or condo, double-check the rules first. Many hotel pools block professional cameras but allow smartphones, which makes no real difference but is enforced anyway. In condos, staff have interrupted our sessions on several occasions.

Before you commit to a pool, check three things:

  • The pool is uncovered, so you are not stuck posing in shadow
  • The sun is not directly behind you the whole time
  • There is room to move around without crowds, chairs, or umbrellas in every frame

If you are unsure, send us photos of your pool and we will tell you honestly if it is worth shooting at, or if you should come to ours.

Honest note
"Most pools we get asked about are mediocre. Bad light, boring backdrops, or no space."

Hotel and condo pools that look great on Instagram often shoot poorly in reality. We would rather tell you up front than waste your session on a pool that does not work.

Styling that works against blue water

Colors that contrast with the water photograph best. Reds, whites, warm yellows, and earthy tones stand out against the blue. Both color and black and white work well for pool sessions.

01

Outfits

Two changes works well. One dry look, one swim-friendly. We will plan the order so the dry shots come first.

02

Props

Towel, sunglasses, hat, a drink. A floating breakfast tray if you want one. Skip giant inflatables unless that is the look.

03

Makeup

Waterproof if you plan to get in. The session is in the afternoon, so it should hold up through both dry and wet shots.

Three options, fixed prices

All packages include retouching and high-resolution edited files. Makeup is available as an add-on.

If you want us to shoot at our pool at Supalai Premier Charoen Nakhon, just say so when booking. If you want to shoot at your hotel or condo, send us the pool details first so we can confirm it works.

When we shoot

Afternoon and golden hour

All our pool sessions run in the afternoon or later. Light direction matters at the pool a lot, so we time the shoot to the sun.

☀️

Mid to late afternoon

Bright, direct light that turns the water a clear blue. Works for energetic, high-contrast shots.

🌅

Golden hour

The hour before sunset. Warm tones, low sun angle, no harsh shadows under the eyes. Best window for portraits.

Common questions

FAQ

Sometimes, yes. But check with the hotel or condo first. Many ban professional cameras, and condo staff have stopped sessions of ours before. If you want a guaranteed location, we shoot at our own pool at Supalai Premier Charoen Nakhon.
No. All pool sessions are afternoon or later. Light is more flattering and the water reads better on camera.
No. Most of our pool shots are taken in shallow water where you can stand. We can also keep you out of the water entirely if you prefer.
Uncovered, decent natural light, room to move, and not crowded with chairs, umbrellas, or other guests. If you are unsure, send us a photo of yours and we will tell you.
