Two Types of Photo Studio in Bangkok

Furnished Studios (Natural Light)

These look like real decorated rooms: bedrooms, living rooms, editorial spaces, lounge areas. They rely primarily on natural light through large windows, sometimes supported by small continuous lights. The results feel warm and lifestyle-oriented. They suit portrait sessions, maternity photography, boudoir, family shoots, lifestyle content, and anything where a real-room background adds depth to the image.

Backdrop Studios (Controlled Artificial Light)

Plain white, black, or coloured walls with professional strobes, softboxes, and lighting grids. Full control over light direction, intensity, and colour temperature regardless of the time of day or weather. They suit product photography, commercial headshots, comp cards, catalogue work, and projects where a clean consistent background is required.

MostlySunny Studio

Our recommended studio for most portrait, maternity, and business sessions.

MostlySunny sits near ICONSIAM shopping mall on the west bank of the Chao Phraya, easy to reach by BTS (Krung Thonburi station, exit 3) or by taxi from most central Bangkok hotels. Sessions ending in the evening can continue to the riverside for outdoor shots nearby.

The studio has five rooms, each with different furnishings, colour palettes, and window sizes. Rooms range from 32 m² to 50 m². Natural light is the primary source, with small artificial lights available to fill shadows or extend your shooting window into the evening.

Our favourites are Studio 2 and Studio B. They have the best balance of window light, space, and a clean versatile aesthetic that works for a wide range of session types. We have photographed psychologists, entrepreneurs, and maternity clients here.

For sessions that need more visual variety, it is worth booking two or three rooms for the same time slot. This gives you distinct backgrounds and colour palettes in a single visit without relocating. The price-to-quality ratio across all rooms is the best we have found in Bangkok at this tier.

Ketchup Studio

Ketchup is a compact, well-priced backdrop studio in the On Nut area, one of Bangkok's most accessible neighbourhoods by BTS. The 50 m² floor plan includes a dedicated makeup station, keeping prep and shooting in the same space without feeling cramped.

The studio uses mid-tier professional lighting equipment. It is more than sufficient for clean headshots, single-subject portraits, comp cards, and small groups. At ฿1,000 per hour you get a reliable, consistently lit environment where results are predictable and repeatable.

This is a strong choice when you know exactly what you need and do not want to pay for space or equipment you will not use. It works well when combined with our Sabai Session (1-hour photography), keeping the total investment low for a focused, efficient shoot.

Mitr Studio

Mitr is our go-to recommendation when a session calls for a distinctive, characterful space. The studio has 10 individually themed rooms, each approximately 30 m², all using natural light as the primary source. The variety means you can achieve very different looks within a single booking without leaving the building.

Our favourite rooms are Princess Bedroom and Winston. The Princess Bedroom has the romantic, soft aesthetic that works beautifully for boudoir photography and intimate portrait sessions. Winston has a more structured editorial feel, ideal for fashion shoots and strong creative concepts. Other rooms work well for podcasts, product lifestyle photography, and casual portrait sessions.

The main consideration with Mitr is location. It sits near Don Mueang Airport, which puts it further from central Bangkok than our other recommendations. Budget extra travel time, and factor this into your session planning if you are combining studio time with outdoor shots elsewhere in the city.

Cinnamon Studio

Cinnamon is the most professional studio in this guide. It has two rooms with distinct configurations, both significantly larger than the other studios on this list. Both rooms include lights, grips, and props as standard, along with a separate makeup area, storage space, and a private toilet.

Studio A - Daylight Studio

96 m² with a separate makeup area. Background options include a natural brick wall, white wall, black wall, wood wall, and two large windows, plus a lounge area with a makeup corner. The room suits commercial photography, large family sessions, fashion editorials, and content productions that need flexibility within a single space.

This is the studio for major commercial campaigns, larger group productions, product videos, and anything requiring a broadcast or advertising-grade result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Bangkok photo studio is best for business headshots?

For a clean, professional white background, Ketchup Studio is the most straightforward and cost-effective option. For a warmer, more editorial look for your headshots, MostlySunny Room 2 is our top recommendation.

Which studio is best for families?

MostlySunny works well for families up to 5 to 6 people. For larger family groups, Cinnamon Studio A gives you significantly more floor space (96 m²) with multiple background options in one room. For an intimate, lifestyle-style family session, Mitr's furnished rooms also work well for smaller families.

Which studio is best for product photography?

Ketchup Studio suits small product shoots and e-commerce images that need a clean white backdrop. For high-volume commercial product photography, Cinnamon Studio A or B offers the most professional equipment and the most space. Studio B's cyclorama is particularly well suited to product video as well as photography.

Can I rent a Bangkok photo studio without hiring a photographer?

Yes, but not through us. We coordinate studio bookings exclusively for clients who are also hiring us as their photographer. We are not a rental platform and do not earn commission from studio bookings. Contact each studio directly for independent rental.

How much does a studio photoshoot cost in Bangkok in total?

A business headshot session at Ketchup with our Sabai Session photography costs around ฿12,000 total (฿11,000 photography plus ฿1,000 studio). A 2-hour portrait session at MostlySunny with our Sanook package runs around ฿20,300 total. A full commercial production at Cinnamon Studio B with a Sawasdee Deluxe package starts from ฿50,000 before optional add-ons.

What is a cyclorama studio and do I need one?

A cyclorama is a seamless curved wall that creates an infinity background where the floor meets the wall with no visible join. This is used in commercial photography and video to achieve a completely clean, shadowless backdrop that appears to extend infinitely. Most portrait and family sessions do not need one. Product campaigns, advertising shoots, and professional video productions often do. Cinnamon Studio B is the only venue in this guide with a cyclorama wall.

Do the studios provide makeup artists?

All studios in this guide include a dedicated makeup station or area. None of them provide in-house makeup artists as part of the rental. If you need a makeup artist and hairstylist, book through our in-house MUA team when making your photography reservation.

How far in advance should I book?

For most portrait and headshot sessions, one week's notice is sufficient. For productions requiring Cinnamon Studio, especially if you need both a setup day and a shoot day, two to three weeks is advisable. Peak periods (November to February) fill faster across all venues.
