On Foot Across the City

Your Bangkok Street Photoshoot

Documentary sessions across Chinatown, Talat Noi, Song Wat and the parts of the city you actually want to remember.

You walk. We document. Candid frames, fully edited, with no stiff posing and no hotel-lobby backdrops. For a fully unposed approach across any part of the city, see our candid sessions page.

Why a Street Session

Real moments, not staged ones

A documentary street session captures you closer to how you actually move through the world. You react to the city, we react to you. No forced smiles, no awkward posing, and no stopping every thirty seconds to manufacture a moment.

We have been shooting these streets for years, including every neighbourhood on this page. What that means for you: someone who knows when to press the shutter and when to stay out of your way.

Hiring a Bangkok street photographer makes sense if you want:

  • Images from your trip that don't look like every other tourist shot
  • Content for Instagram, blogs, or your portfolio
  • Frames that feel cinematic instead of corporate
  • A relaxed shoot with no studio, no props, no script
What Clients Say

Recent sessions, in their words

The images don't look staged at all, just me exploring the city. Way better than the stiff frames I had before.

Sarah M., Content Creator

Kitsana captured moments I didn't even realize were happening. The images feel like memories, not posed shots.

James K., Digital Nomad

We walked from Talat Noi to Song Wat on a weekday afternoon. Our photographer kept spotting light we would never notice, then stepped back and let us just walk. The photos feel like our trip.

Street Session Packages

Every Bangkok street photoshoot follows the same documentary approach. What changes is how many neighbourhoods we cover, how many frames you get back, and how fast they land.

About 1 hour

Sabai Session

11kTHB / $330

A focused walk through one or two nearby locations.

  • Up to 200 edited imagesMost 1-hour sessions deliver at least 100 edited images. The final count depends on the locations and variety of shots. If you'd rather have a curated selection of the 10 to 20 best images, we can make it for you.
  • Up to 2 Bangkok locationsWe plan locations in the same area, so travel between them is usually 5 to 15 minutes and most of your time goes into shooting.
  • 7 to 12 different photo spotsA location is a separate place we travel between. A spot is one setup inside it: a doorway, a staircase, a stretch of railing. One location usually gives several spots.
  • Up to 3 looks, in your own outfitsOptional. Most people shoot in one outfit. If you'd like more looks, this is the total, including the one you arrive in. Changes happen within your session time. We don't provide outfits.
  • Standard 3-day delivery through a private gallery linkYour full edited gallery arrives within 3 days through a private link. Sanook and Sawasdee include express 24-hour delivery instead. Here you can add it for 2k THB / $60.

About 4 hours

Sawasdee Deluxe

34kTHB / $1,010

8.5k THB / $250 per hour

Transport between locations, and enough time for groups of more than four.

  • Every usable image, edited and delivered, around 1,000No cap, and no curated selection. Every usable frame from every location, edited and delivered. In practice that is usually 700 to 1,200 images over four hours.
  • Up to 5 locations, including destinations outside BangkokYes. Four hours is enough for a destination just outside the city, such as the Ancient City, and the private van takes you there and back.
  • 30 to 50 different photo spotsA location is a separate place we travel between. A spot is one setup inside it: a doorway, a staircase, a stretch of railing. One location usually gives several spots.
  • Private van with driver: hotel pickup, all locations, and drop-offIncluded on this package only: a private van and driver covering hotel pickup, every location, and drop-off. It also gives you a private space to change between stops. On the other packages you pay for your own taxi or tuk-tuk.
  • Unlimited looks, in your own outfitsOptional. Most people shoot in one outfit. If you'd like more looks, change as often as your session time allows, and the private van gives you a space to change between stops. We don't provide outfits.
  • Express 24-hour delivery includedYour full edited gallery arrives within 24 hours instead of the standard 3 days. Same editing, just prioritised in our queue.

Included in every package

  • Private session, the photographer is only yours
  • Guided posing throughout
  • Full editing and colour grading
  • Private online gallery
  • RAW files free on request
  • 2-year cloud backup

Not included

  • Hair and makeup: available as an add-on, from 4k THB / $120.
  • Outfits: we don't rent outfits. Our stylist can advise you by message or video call (from 500 THB / $15), or go shopping with you.
  • Transport between locations: paid by you (taxi or tuk-tuk, usually 100–200 THB). Only Sawasdee and Sawasdee Grand include a private van.
  • Photo reel: not included. A vertical slideshow reel made from your photos can be added for 2k THB / $60. It uses none of your shooting time.

Popular add-ons

Hair and makeup from 4,000 THB and styling advice from 500 THB can be added to any package. Express 24-hour delivery is available as an add-on to Sabai Session for 2,000 THB.

On the shorter packages we walk where we can, and order a taxi or tuk-tuk where we can't, travelling together with you paying cash. Transport is included on the 4-hour package.

Profile Sessions

Dating profile images that don't look like dating profile images

Too many dating profiles use the same handful of poses. A street session shows you in motion, in context, with real expression, so the frames read like a person rather than a product listing.

How a Session Works

Four steps from booking to delivery

No complicated brief and no rigid shot list. Here is the full process from your first message to your final gallery:

  1. 01
    You message us
Tell us your dates, group size, and the kind of images you want. We usually reply within a few hours with package options.
  2. 02
    We pick locations
Based on your goals, we suggest the neighbourhoods that fit. You confirm a meeting point and time.
  3. 03
    We shoot
You explore. We follow, give light direction when useful, and photograph the moments as they happen. No stiff posing.
  4. 04
    You get the images
Standard delivery is within 3 days. Sanook Photoshoot and Sawasdee Deluxe deliver within 24 hours. Black and white versions on request.
We shoot all day. Afternoon and evening light is generally the most flattering for a street session, but we plan the route around whatever window your day leaves free.
Your Photographer

Who will photograph you

One photographer walks with you for the whole session. For street work that is usually Kitsana. She comes from journalism and documentary work, including reporting for Business Insider, and her community storytelling was exhibited in Washington, D.C. She reads the place first: the light in an alley, a vendor at work, how you fit into the scene.

Jay also shoots many street sessions. He spent his first three years behind the camera as a photojournalist, so he reads people fast and catches real expressions. His direction is short and practical, which helps if you have never been photographed before.

What that means on your walk:

  • One photographer per session, matched to your language
  • 1,250+ sessions across Bangkok since 2021
  • Kitsana speaks Thai, English and Mandarin
  • Jay speaks English and Russian
Where We Shoot

Six parts of the city that always deliver

Each spot has its own texture, light, and rhythm. Pick one for a short session, or combine several for the longer packages.

Sessions run one to four hours and cover up to five locations, depending on the package.
How to Prepare

Three things to sort before your session

Clothing
What to wear
Solid colours photograph better than loud patterns and are easy to mix between locations. Bring two or three outfit options.
  • Skip loud patterns and big logos
  • Comfortable shoes (we walk a lot)
  • Light fabrics (it gets hot here)
  • A small towel for sweat
Casual denim works for industrial spots. Flowing fabrics suit the flower market.
Groups
Couples and group shoots
Pick two or three matching tones, not identical outfits. Decide on the overall feel before you arrive: relaxed weekend, smart casual, editorial. If one person wears a statement piece, keeping the others simpler usually gives the frame more balance.
Timing
Show up like yourself
Eat first, hydrate, and add 15 minutes to your expected arrival time, more if it has just rained. The shoot works best when you treat it like a walk through the city with a friend, not a job interview.
Light and Time

Afternoon light and after-dark sessions

We shoot all day, while late-day sessions often bring warmer tones and longer shadows. Sessions that run past sunset shift into a different mode: neon signs, vendor carts, reflections on wet pavement.

Pick night work if you want mood and atmosphere. Pick daylight if you want natural colour and a cleaner, brighter look.

Lifestyle Sessions

Want better frames than hotel selfies?

A lifestyle session covers tuk-tuks, vendors, architecture, you in real context. It works well when you want the images to extend beyond a dedicated street route and into the rest of your day.

Video Add-On

Add motion and sound

Short scenes edited with atmospheric audio, the same documentary approach applied to video. The reel add-on is 2,000 THB and pairs well with Sanook Photoshoot or Sawasdee Deluxe. A reel cut from your session photos takes no shooting time. If you want real filmed clips, that time comes out of the photos, so the image count drops.

Common Questions

Before You Book

How far ahead should I book?
Two to three weeks is ideal, but message us even if your trip is days away. Evening Chinatown sessions can often be booked the same day, while other areas need at least a day. Weekends fill first.
Do you shoot solo, couples, or groups?
All three. The price is per booking, so group size never changes it. Groups of more than four work best on Sawasdee Deluxe for enough time and coverage.
Who will photograph me, and in what language?
Usually Kitsana, who speaks Thai, English and Mandarin, or Jay, who speaks English and Russian. Only one photographer comes to your session. You can ask for a specific person when you book.
What should I wear for a street session?
Solid colors and comfortable shoes, because we walk a lot. Light fabrics help in the heat, and denim suits the industrial lanes of Song Wat. On the 2-hour and 4-hour packages, bring two or three outfits.
Where do we meet, and how do I get there?
We send the exact meeting point after booking, such as 965 BKK Cafe in Talat Noi or the Starbucks in Sathorn Square for the Chong Nonsi Skywalk. MRT Wat Mangkon is the closest station for Chinatown and a short walk from Talat Noi. Add 15 minutes to your travel time, more after rain.
How does payment work?
A 30% deposit by card holds your date. You pay the full amount in cash in Thai baht after the session, and we refund the deposit to your card straight away with a receipt.
What if it rains?
We can wait up to an hour, work under cover, move to another day, or cancel with your deposit refunded in full. The choice is yours. Light rain can give great frames, so we decide with you on the day.
Are the images retouched, and when do I get them?
We edit color, contrast and exposure on every frame, with no heavy skin retouching. The 1-hour package arrives within 3 days, and the 2-hour and 4-hour packages within 24 hours.
Ready to Book

Your session,
start to finish

Send your dates and a few words about what you want. We reply with a package suggestion, a meeting point, and answers to anything still unclear. Asking doesn't commit you to anything.
