Krabi Photographer for Couples, Families, and Solo Travellers
Krabi has the dramatic cliffs of Phra Nang, the cinematic sand of Ao Nang, and quiet caves most visitors never reach. We cover all of them in a single afternoon-to-golden-hour session.

What Clients Say
Why Hire a Krabi Photographer
You can shoot Krabi yourself on a phone and get postcards. The cliffs, the light and the hidden coves reward someone who has worked them before. Knowing when Phra Nang clears of day-trippers, which tide makes Ao Rok Bay workable, and how to route a day so you spend your time in front of the camera rather than in a car is the difference.
Krabi also tends to be easier on a budget than Phuket or Samui, which leaves room for the things worth doing, like a half-day boat trip to uninhabited islands. The province has its own international airport, so getting in and out is simple, and it works as a base for trips to Phuket, Koh Samui or Khao Sok National Park.
Where to Stay Before Your Session
Visitors usually stay in one of two zones: Moo 5 or Moo 7. For a session, Moo 5 is the better pick. It sits right beside Ao Nang Beach, which is already a solid backdrop, and it is closer to the other stretches of coast we like to work.
Staying in Moo 5 also cuts travel time during the day, so less of it goes on the road and more of it goes on the locations.
Best Locations for a Krabi Photoshoot
Over the years we've worked most of the beaches, caves and viewpoints in the area. These are the spots that consistently produce the strongest sets.
Ao Nang Beach
The sand here is darker and firmer than most Thai beaches, and the waves break white against it, which gives a strong contrast and a cinematic look in the final set. The beach runs long enough that we always find empty space, whatever the season.
Ao Rok Bay
An unassuming cave tucked at the end of the coastal road. When sea conditions allow, we work the waves breaking against the rocks, which gives the most editorial frames of the day. If the water is wrong on your date, we swap it for another stop.
Phra Nang Beach and Princess Cave
Dramatic cliffs sitting right by the water. Reaching it takes a longtail boat from the Railay dock and then a walk through Railay, so allow a good chunk of the session for the round trip. The final stretch of path is awkward, but the location repays the effort. It pairs well with a lifestyle session if you want flowing dresses and cliffs in the same gallery.
Tonsai Beach Rock Climbing Area
More cliffs, more dramatic set-ups. The beach and the surrounding area both work, and it has a different feel from Railay because of the climbing community.
Sa Kaeo
Emerald pools, small caves and thick green cover. A calmer location, good for a breather between stops and still producing strong portraits.
Emerald Pool
Similar to Sa Kaeo but better known, so expect more visitors. Worth including if you want that green-water look in the gallery.
Resort Sessions on the Coast
If you want a lifestyle set inside a resort, Rayavadee is the one we recommend. Wide grounds full of trees and gardens, several pools, and a cave restaurant that doubles as a wedding venue (see our wedding page if that's relevant). It sits right beside Princess Cave, which makes it easy to combine resort and beach in one session.
Access depends on the property's current policy and may require a room booking or advance permission, which is arranged on your side rather than ours.
One honest note for non-guests: Rayavadee has fenced off a large section, which lengthens the public walking path to the cave for anyone not staying there. The water sits ankle-deep beside the rocks, and waves often soak shorts or a shirt on the way. Plan outfits accordingly. Guests have direct access and avoid this entirely.
Day Trips From Here
If your trip runs longer than a week, this works as a base for nearby destinations. The most useful are:
- Phuket and the nearby islands as a day trip
- Khao Sok National Park for jungle and lake stays; we suggest two nights
- Similan Islands for snorkelling and diving trips
