Why This Session
Stands Apart
Chinatown gives you a setting you can only find here. Hand-painted signs, food carts, tuk-tuks and a dense crowd build a backdrop no studio can fake.
We shoot here every week with families, couples and pre-wedding clients. We know the angles, the safer corners and the rhythm of the street.
This is one of our signature sessions as a neon photographer in Bangkok: real street colour, controlled lighting, and a location that changes block to block.
Hundreds of Sessions Here
We've shot Yaowarat in every condition. We move fast, find variety and skip the tourist clichés.
A Distinctive Style
Our editing, framing and use of reflections give the set a look that doesn't read as a standard travel gallery.
Families, Couples and Pre-Wed
We've photographed families, couples, pre-wedding clients and solo travellers here.
Your Story, Your Energy
Bring poses, ideas, even cosplays. The more original your concept, the more we can build around it.
Two Looks in One Evening
Classic Chinatown Colour
Hand-painted signs, street vendors, tuk-tuks and red lanterns. Warm, dense and electric, the visual signature of Yaowarat after dark.
From 7pm - Yaowarat RdCinematic Night Portraits
Urban backdrops a few minutes away. Cool blues, glass towers, BTS overpasses cutting through the frame. Think Blade Runner with a Bangkok accent.
Cyberpunk - UrbanThe Combined Session
With the two-hour package you can choose to combine both looks in the same evening: start with cinematic urban portraits, then move into Chinatown for the colour finale.
Tell us your date and we'll confirm the evening.
Creative
Techniques
We Use
We treat every session as a small production. Reflections, props, projections and street life all become part of the frame.
Reflection Play
We use small props and puddles to bounce colour back into the shot. After rain, the asphalt does most of the work for us.
Chinese Character Projection
Want Chinese characters projected across your portrait? We bring a portable projector for that look. It adds an editorial layer to the set.
Flashlight Techniques
Not every shot has to lean on the signs. We use handheld flashlights to sculpt mood and isolate you against darker backgrounds.
Street Life Moments
We catch you mid-action: ordering at a noodle stall, paying a vendor, ducking into a tuk-tuk, walking through the crowd.
Authentic Frames
A 7-Eleven aisle, a steamy bowl of noodles, a shared laugh under a sign. The kind of images that feel lived in.
Beyond the
Glow
We're open to your ideas, poses and even cosplays. Unusual concepts are welcome, so bring something we can play with.
Street Food Culture
Pad thai at a roadside stall, roti cooking on a hot plate, fresh pomegranate juice. Honest food moments inside your frames.
Tuk-Tuk and Transport
A tuk-tuk window, a passing motorbike taxi, the reflection of headlights on glass. Movement adds energy to stills.
Bold and Creative Concepts
Cosplay, traditional Chinese tops, off-beat compositions. The more original you bring, the more we run with it.
We also shoot at Lebua at State Tower, the rooftop sky bar. A different vibe entirely, with the same attention to creative detail.
Late Afternoon to
After Dark
Want two looks in one booking? Start late afternoon at a temple, riverside spot or quiet side street, then continue into Chinatown once the signs switch on. For the sister daytime session in the same area, see our Chinatown by day page.
You walk away with two clearly different galleries from the same evening.
Temples, riverside, quiet streets. Warmer light, softer colour, room to move.
The transition window. Skies shift, the city changes gear and we move toward Yaowarat.
From 7pm the signs are on and the first red-neon spot is still open. This is where the signature look kicks in.
What to Bring
and Wear
A few small choices make a big difference once we're shooting. Use this as a quick prep list.
- Sunglasses for portraits and reflections
- White or light tops as the first choice, avoid full black
- A traditional Chinese top if you have one, it reads very well here
- One or two outfit changes if you want variety
- A little cash for nearby restrooms if you plan to change outfits
- Comfortable shoes, the streets are uneven
Bring Sunglasses
The signs reflect right into the lenses. One of our favourite shots of the night.
White Tops Recommended
White and light colours catch the glow. Black tends to disappear into the background, but the choice is yours.
Traditional Chinese Tops
Some clients arrive in a qipao or tang suit. The result fits the street like nothing else.
Multiple Outfits
There are restrooms along the route that can usually accommodate a quick change. Changes do count toward your session time.
Monday Sessions
On Mondays, fewer stalls open and the crowd thins noticeably. The streets feel more relaxed and there's more room to work, although we keep the same shooting pace.
Events in the Area
Bangkok's Vegetarian Festival usually falls in September or October, and Chinese New Year in late January or February, depending on the year.
Need full privacy? We never publish your images without written permission. RAW-file availability depends on your package and can be confirmed before you book.
Who a Night Photoshoot in Bangkok Suits
We work with families, couples, pre-wedding clients and solo travellers. The format flexes around your group size and energy.
Honest street life, bold colour and an efficient pace mean you leave with images that feel like the city, not generic portraits.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the session last and when does it start?
One hour is standard. We recommend starting at 7pm, while the first red-neon spot on the route is still open; later starts are fine too. Longer bookings can begin earlier elsewhere in the city and move to Yaowarat once the signs are on.
Where exactly do we meet?
Default meeting point is on Yaowarat Road in Chinatown, near the arches. We send the exact pin once your booking is confirmed.
What if it rains?
Light rain is good news for us. The wet asphalt doubles the colour. Heavy rain pushes us under awnings and into covered alleys, or we reschedule at no cost.
How many images do we get and when?
Each package is capped as listed: up to 200 on Sabai Session and up to 600 on Sanook Photoshoot. Only Sawasdee Deluxe is uncapped. Delivery is 3 days as standard, or 24 hours on the two longer packages.
Can we bring kids?
Yes. We've shot many families in Chinatown. The crowd is dense around 8pm to 9pm, so toddlers may prefer the earlier 7pm slot.
Can we bring props or change outfits?
Bring as many outfits as you like and any props you want in frame, though changes count toward your session time. There are restrooms along the route that can usually accommodate a quick change.
Do you share our images online?
Only with your written permission. If you need full privacy, we deliver your gallery to you and keep nothing public.
