Who We Work With

Couple Sessions
We Specialize In

Most couples book us for pre-wedding sessions. They want photos for their invitations and a chance to get comfortable on camera before the wedding day. Longer sessions give us time to cover several Bangkok locations and work in a few outfit changes. Others are visiting Bangkok and want something better than standard tourist photos together. We also cover surprise marriage proposals, staying out of sight until the moment happens, and intimate sessions for two shot privately in your hotel room. You book the hotel room directly, and we help you pick one with the right light before you confirm.

The Texts We Get After

★★★★★

We were so awkward at first, but within 10 minutes we completely forgot the camera existed. The neon-lit tuk-tuk shots are insane. We look like we're in a movie. Every single image feels like us, not some fake Instagram version. Exactly what we wanted.

Graphic Designer
★★★★★

I proposed at Benchakitti Park and didn't even know Jay was there until after she said yes. He captured her actual reaction, the shock, the tears, everything. Those images mean a lot to us. Seriously talented.

Donovan Hayworth

Physical Therapist
★★★★★

I'm genuinely camera shy but Jay made it so easy. The 7-11 frames are hilarious and somehow still look incredible. We ended up using them for our holiday cards and everyone thought we hired an editorial team.

A relaxed hour for two in one or two nearby spots, like the flower market or the riverside.

  • Up to 2 Bangkok locationsWe plan locations in the same area, so travel between them is usually 5 to 15 minutes and most of your time goes into shooting.
  • 7 to 12 different photo spotsA location is a separate place we travel between. A spot is one setup inside it: a doorway, a staircase, a stretch of railing. One location usually gives several spots.
  • Up to 3 looks, in your own outfitsOptional. Most people shoot in one outfit. If you'd like more looks, this is the total, including the one you arrive in. Changes happen within your session time. We don't provide outfits.

How We Shoot

Your Bangkok Couple Photographer

We blend three styles into every Bangkok couple photoshoot: candid moments, fine-art portraits, and black-and-white frames. You get variety without locking into one look. The location guides the approach. The flower market lends itself to movement and spontaneous moments, the riverside to closer portraits, and urban spots like 7-11 to playful frames.

📸

Candid Moments

Real reactions as they happen. Frames that never read as posed.
🌅

Fine-Art Portraits

Soft golden hour light and editorial framing. The portraits you'll print and frame at home.
◆

Black-and-White Frames

Stripped-back frames where expression, light, and gesture do the work. Timeless and personal.
Why It Matters

Why Book a Couple Session at All

A printed image on the wall holds something your camera roll can't. The way you looked at each other by the river. The laugh in the flower market. The quiet second before everything changed.

A good photograph preserves how it felt, not just what happened. While you focus on each other, we handle composition, lighting, and split-second timing. Years from now, as life changes, these images become a record of where you were, who you were, and what this time together in Bangkok felt like.

Who Will Photograph You

The Photographers Behind Your Session

Every couple session has one photographer, from the planning chat to the final gallery. Most couples work with Jay. He has been behind the camera since 2018 and began with three years as a photojournalist. That is why he spots the real laugh or the quick look between you before it is gone. His direction is short and practical, so couples who feel stiff relax within minutes.

Thai-speaking couples, and anyone who wants a quieter, documentary feel, often book Kitsana. She comes from journalism and documentary work, including reporting for Business Insider and community storytelling exhibited in Washington, D.C. She shoots on film too, and speaks Thai, English and Mandarin.

Since 2021 the team has run 1,250+ sessions, and about 99% of clients arrive with little or no camera experience. Read more about the Lukfoto team and how we work.

Where We Shoot

Locations Included in Your Session

Couple session at Pak Khlong Talat flower market
01

Flower Market: Color and Local Energy

Pak Khlong Talat

The flower market gives you color, local energy, and natural reactions. Couples browsing the flowers, walking through narrow aisles, or laughing at the sensory overload all look natural on camera. Late afternoon often works especially well as the light softens through the market. We meet outside Floral Cafe at Napasorn. The market stop runs about 30 minutes, and there's a bridge nearby that works well at golden hour. We usually buy flowers as a prop.

02

Riverside: Golden Hour by the Water

Chao Phraya River

The Chao Phraya gives you wide views and beautiful evening light. We usually start shortly before golden hour, then keep shooting as sunset gives way to the city lights at twilight. From August to mid November clear sunsets are rare, so we shoot just after sunset when Wat Arun lights up. The riverside spot itself is only about 10 minutes of shooting, so we always pair it with something else.

03

Urban 7-11 Stores

Chinatown

These convenience stores are a Bangkok signature and a fun add-on to any session. Best in Chinatown, where the staff don't mind and the stores are big enough to work in. It's a 10 to 15 minute add-on rather than a full stop, shot with flash and a fish-eye for something playful and distinctly local.

Get Ready

How to Prepare for Your Session

What to Wear

Coordinate, don't match: pick complementary tones rather than identical outfits.
Match the location: casual wear suits the market, dressier looks fit the riverside.
Allow movement: choose clothing you can walk, sit, and laugh in without constantly adjusting it.
Bring layers: a jacket or accessory adds variety without a full outfit change.

When to Shoot

Afternoon to golden hour

Daytime Sessions

We pick the exact start time around the season, the location, and sunset. This works especially well for the flower market, riverside, and other outdoor locations, and it is our most booked slot.
After 7 PM

Evening Sessions

Cinematic frames built around neon, signage, and city traffic. Ideal for Chinatown, rooftops, and inside 7-11 stores. The mood changes completely once the sun goes down.
Note: golden-hour slots tend to book earlier during Bangkok's peak travel season, especially from December through February.

Frequently Asked

Booking Questions

What happens if it rains during our session?

Rain here often comes in short bursts. We track the forecast and adjust the start time when it makes sense. If it rains we can wait up to an hour, switch to covered spots, postpone to another day, or cancel with your deposit refunded in full. The choice is yours.

How much deposit do you require, and is it refundable?

A 30% deposit by card secures your booking. If rain stops the session it's refunded in full. For any other cancellation it's non-refundable, though it carries over to a new day if you reschedule at least 48 hours ahead, with no second deposit. After a completed session the deposit goes back to your card, since the full amount is settled in cash on the day.

How much does a couple session in Bangkok cost?

Sabai Session is 11,000 THB for about 1 hour, Sanook Photoshoot is 19,000 THB for 2 hours and Sawasdee Deluxe is 34,000 THB for 4 hours. Outside Bangkok, sessions are 34,000 THB for 4 hours, 44,000 THB for 6 hours and 50,000 THB for 8 hours, with our travel and hotel included.

What do we actually get, and can we print and post them?

A private link to the full set at full resolution, with no watermarks and no charge per image. They're yours to print, post, or hand to a stationer. Nothing is held back as an upsell, and a black-and-white version of any frame is free on request. Standard delivery is 3 days on Sabai Session, and 24 hours on Sanook Photoshoot and Sawasdee Deluxe.

Neither of us is any good in front of a camera. Does that matter?

Almost every couple says this, and it changes nothing about how the session runs. We don't ask you to hold poses. We give you something to do, walk somewhere, react to each other, and shoot the moments between the instructions. The first ten minutes are usually the stiff ones, which is why we start somewhere easy rather than at the best spot.

Who will photograph us, and in what language?

One photographer covers your session, usually Jay. He speaks English and Russian and is calm with couples who feel awkward on camera. Thai-speaking couples usually work with Kitsana, who also speaks Mandarin, and you can ask for either one by name.

Can we do multiple outfit changes during one session?

Outfit changes are welcome within your session time on Sanook Photoshoot and Sawasdee Deluxe. We plan them around location stops, using your hotel, suitable changing facilities, or the car where appropriate. Sabai Session covers up to 2 locations in about an hour, so there's realistically time for one look.

Do you provide hair, makeup, or styling?

Our own artists come to you, rather than you travelling to a salon before the shoot. Hair and makeup is one booking covering both, from 4,000 THB, with separate looks for women and men. Personal styling starts at 500 THB. Tell us at booking and we coordinate the artist. All packages and prices here.
